Join an Amphibious Safari in Surfers Paradise

You will thoroughly enjoy the unique land-water adventure known as an amphibious safari.

Runners-study.com

An amphibian, of course, is an animal that lives and moves comfortably between both water and land environments, with the best known example being a frog.

Similarly, the amphibious safari takes place in a vehicle that can easily move between water and land.

All regular-length tours depart from Surfers Paradise and make their way leisurely - over land and through water - to Main Beach, Paradise Waters and Budds Beach.

And your tour guide will provide entertaining and informative commentary all the way!

A shorter 40 minute tour may be offered by operators. This tour focuses more on the Surfers Paradise land and water-based sights, and also provides a fun experience. Aquabus Safari on Surfers Paradise Esplanade

On the first leg of your tour, you'll travel in high-4WD-style through the streets of Surfers Paradise where, perched high above the ground in the cabin of your open-air 'bus', you'll enjoy a panoramic view of Australia's tourist mecca.

In the event of wet weather, a clear plastic blind will be pulled down to prevent you from getting wet.

You'll travel along the beach esplanades from Surfers Paradise to Main Beach, passing the magnificent five star Sheraton Mirage resort, and Sea World's Nara Resort, before arriving at The Spit.

And here, on reaching the water’s edge, your amphibious safari 'bus' transforms into a 'boat'!

It's quite bizarre to find your 4WD bus heading nose-first into the water - but don't be alarmed.

The 'bus' floats quite comfortably and the propeller quickly kicks in to guide the craft into the next segment of the tour - a cruise along the Gold Coast broadwater and canals!

This is a fun, novel way to cruise the waterways of the Gold Coast.

You can take an up-close look at Wavebreak Island and other sights; get a fabulous view of the 6-star Palazzo Versace hotel; view luxury yachts moored at Marina Mirage or the Southport Yacht Club.

And generally enjoy being a part of all the activity on the water.

Your amphibious safari cruise will take you under the bridge that links Main Beach to Southport and into another area of lifestyle-extraordinaire.

Here you can admire the million-dollar homes that edge the waterfront of Paradise Waters and its surrounds.

The cruise ends at Budd’s Beach where once again, your amphibious safari craft is transformed into a 4WD vehicle and leaves the water to return to the original departure point at Surfers Paradise.

This is definitely a tour with a difference and although it may seem quick because there’s so much to see, the round trip takes between 60-75 minutes ... an hour or so well spent!!
